Conveniently located in the heart of downtown Jackson, the LIFT Wellness Center is the area's only medical fitness center. The concept was born out of a West Tennessee Healthcare initiative called Living in a Fit Tennessee (LIFT) that combines medical fitness, lifestyle education and a community-wide focus to deliver an improved quality of life to the whole region. The LIFT is a center not only for medically-based exercise opportunities but also for classes, programs, events and medical services that make it easier than ever for you and your neighbors to live vital, healthier lives.
The 84,000+ square foot center houses a full fitness facility, indoor climbing wall, full-size basketball court, two indoor pools and hot tub, spacious locker rooms, medical clinic and a healthy cafe, as well as many other cutting edge amenities. The indoor walking track overlooks Downtown Jackson's beautiful sky-scape and a view of Central Creek from the pool area.
The LIFT serves as the anchor for Jackson's newest commercial and residential development: the Healthy Community and the Shoppes of Jackson Walk. Together, the LIFT and Jackson Walk are bringing healthy and fun living back to Downtown Jackson.
The LIFT Wellness Center is not only a positive force in improving the health of Jackson but is also dedicated to promoting the overall well-being of the communities it serves by being LEED Certified. The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) green building rating system, developed and administered by the U.S. Green Building Council, is called to promote design, construction, operation and maintenance practices that reduce the negative environmental impacts of buildings and improve occupant health and well-being.
Although buildings are increasingly recognizing the need and importance of energy efficient design, sustainable site development, educated material selection and proper indoor air quality, the LIFT Wellness Center is only the second building in Jackson to achieve LEED Certification. The facility excelled with the following in order to achieve its certification: 73% of construction material waste was recycled, 35% of water use has been reduced, 23% of materials were sourced locally, and a Green Housekeeping program is in place to ensure the interior environment remains healthy for all occupants.
