Miki Martin, PT, MBA, COMT
Miki holds a Bachelor of Science degree in physical therapy from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and an MBA in healthcare administration from Bethel University. She is a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist in the Maitland Australian Physiotherapy approach.
Prior to accepting the role of Director of the LIFT Wellness Center in 2012, Miki began her healthcare career as a physical therapist in the acute care setting at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. She began a career in outpatient orthopedic physical therapy in 1996 at Sports Plus North Rehab Center and also served as the Center Coordinator for Clinical Education for all of Sports Plus Rehab locations. Miki accepted the position as Program Manager for Sports Plus North in 2002 and opened Sports Plus Fitness in 2007, serving as the program manager for both locations until assuming the current Director position at LIFT Wellness Center.

Syrena was born and raised here in Jackson, TN. She graduated from the University of Tennessee at Martin with her bachelor’s degree in communications and public relations, and she received her master’s in management and leadership from Western Governor’s University. Previously, Syrena worked for The American Cancer Society and Governor Haslam’s Foundation for Health and Wellness where she served as the West TN Director. She is a Jackson’s Finest graduate and a past board member for Youth Town and The Jackson Service League. She is a Chi Omega alumna and in her spare time enjoys running, leading tastings as an Executive Bourbon Steward and cooking. She lives here in Jackson and is a pet mom to Bee a White Bellied Caique Parrot and Ace a German Shephard.

Kent joined the Sports Medicine program at West Tennessee Healthcare in 2006 and the LIFT Wellness Center team in 2012. In 1994, Kent received a Bachelor of Science degree from Southeast Missouri State University in health management, with an emphasis in sports medicine, and minors in athletic training and fitness and exercise science. He is a Certified Athletic Trainer, Certified Weight Trainer and Youth Conditioning Specialist Advanced Standing, as well as being certified in Sportmetrics. He has worked with athletes of all calibers, from eight years old to collegiate and professional levels. Kent has recently provided athletic training services to area schools and athletes and has been the Performance Enhancement Plus Coordinator for Sports Plus since 2006. Kent is eager to help you make this exciting adventure an amazing success.

Rachel is our Group Exercise Coordinator. She began instructing in 2013 and has been at the LIFT since 2015. Rachel earned a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Union University and has certifications in NETA Group Exercise, Indoor Cycling, Pilates, Barre, and TRX. Rachel has a passion for group exercise and loves the energy, accountability, and comradery that group exercise offers. She enjoys getting to connect with members throughout the variety of classes she instructs. Outside of work, Rachel enjoys spending her time with her 4 children, coaching or taking them to their various sporting events/classes and spending time outside with them is her favorite thing to do!

Megan Hedwall is a Certified Personal Trainer. She graduated from Grace Christian University with a bachelor’s degree in business management. During her time at school, she started to get into lifting weights: “Many people would ask me for advice and even ask to train with me. Those experiences are what drove me to become a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).” Megan enjoys teaching people about exercises and how to perform them safely, efficiently and effectively. Megan believes that you can never stop learning, and in fitness this is especially true. Brad Royer is a Certified Athletic Trainer and a Personal Trainer. Brad graduated from Union University in 2015 with a BS in athletic training. While at Union, Brad was a member of the Union University baseball team. Prior to Union, Brad attended Southern Utah University where he started his college baseball career. His hobbies include rock climbing, fishing, hunting and camping. He enjoys family vacations with his wife, Rachel (who also works at the LIFT . . . must be a family thing!), and his children Ella, Emilia, Ezra and Eliza. Brad is passionate about helping the body achieve its greatest potential through efficiency of movement and functional skills. His medical background helps him focus on how the body is supposed to work and creates a safe, fun environment for his clients to work and improve, no matter the limitations.

Peggy started working at LIFT the second week it was open. She is a helper by background and education, her first career being in social work and nursing. Her nursing career has included psych, home health, and general medicine/surgery. She became interested in yoga in order to improve her practice, but she soon discovered that she could combine her nursing background and yoga teacher training into yoga therapy. In Peggy’s classes, she strives to help others to move their bodies, use their breath, and focus their minds to feel better and move more easily through life.

Tosha is married to Adam Cyr, and they have one son, Tucker, and a niece, Tessa. They reside in Henderson, Tennessee. Tosha developed her passion for fitness at the age of 17 and fell in love with bodybuilding. She had always wanted to compete and finally got up the nerve in 2009 to do her first bodybuilding figure competition. She continued competing until she had her son two years later. She then worked at Resource Federal Credit Union from 1998-2016 as the asst. branch manager and went part time later in 2016 to be home with her son.
She began personal training in 2001 and teaching group fitness in 2009. She is truly passionate about health and fitness and strives to lead by example. Tosha enjoys teaching at the LIFT because the atmosphere is so uplifting. She says that while she’s there to motivate members, “little do they know they are motivating me.”

Judy began teaching group exercise at the local YMCA in 1989. Judy then went on to become ACE Certified and taught at the Y until it closed October of 2015. When the Y closed, she then became an instructor for Lift and has now been teaching a total of 34 years.

Shon Bowers is a US Army Vet and New Orleans Native who recently relocated to Jackson after living in West Palm Beach for 10 years. In 2014, she took interest in improving her own personal health and started taking Fitness classes at her local gym where she quickly gained lots of friends who had the same goals; to become more healthy and fit. After seeing the transformation that she accomplished in a short 4 months, friends started coming to Shon for advice in achieving their own weight loss goals. She achieved her 1st Zumba certification in 2015. Little did she know it would open doors that would lead her to now having 13 Zumba Certifications. Blaize graduated from Wayne State University with a BS in Accounting. He became a member of LIFT in 2016 to better himself. He never thought he would fall in love with fitness until he lost over 70 pounds and decided he wanted to become an instructor. He began instructing Zumba in the beginning of 2019 and later that year began instructing Step Aerobics. He loves instructing because he wants to help people step out of their daily lives and responsibilities and just have fun, be confident, and hit their goals. Blaize loves instructing at LIFT because of the high energy and having the community to push and encourage each other to do more and new things. “No matter how slow you go, you’re still lapping everyone on the couch.”
